Recently, actress Pamela Anderson decided to come to Las Vegas with her mother and face the music – namely, that of “FRANK – The Man. The Music.” at The Palazzo Las Vegas – and ended up Tweeting, “Elegant show with mom.” The show’s star, Bob Anderson, does an unbelievable impersonation of the music icon known as the “Chairman of the Board,” Frank Sinatra, right down to the voice; makeup; mannerisms; Sinatra’s musical conductor for 10 years, Vinnie Falcone; and a 32-piece orchestra, half of whom actually played with the legendary singer. Anderson and Anderson met backstage after the performance and took the above picture.

A couple of weeks ago, the stars came out at The Venetian/ The Palazzo Las Vegas as Big Bang Theory’s Johnny Galecki; actress and Biggest Loser reality show host Alison Sweeney; The McCarthy’s star (also famous for her role as Jackie Harris in Roseanne) Laurie Metcalf; drummer, D.J., journalist, and producer Questlove; NCIS alum Cote de Pablo, and more attended the opening of Yardbird Southern Table and Bar and “FRANK - The Man. The Music”. Longtime friends Galecki and Metcalf had a Roseanne reunion, catching up over a drink before the show. After the show Galecki, Cote de Pablo, and Alison Sweeney caught up with Bob Anderson and praised him for his engaging performance. Galecki told Anderson how amazing it was to see such an authentic Frank Sinatra representation.

There couldn't have been a LOVElier way to spend an evening than with legendary international superstar Engelbert Humnperdinck, long known as the "King of Romance," as he thoroughly charmed a sold-out crowd at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts over Valentine's Day weekend with a mesmerizing and flawless 90-minute performance in Reynolds Hall. The handsome artist was greeted with unrestrained enthusiasm from the packed house encompassing four generations the minute he walked out on stage, even before he began to sing, and garnered cheers and wild applause after every song, as well as several standing ovations.

Engelbert’s renowned powerful and beautiful pitch-perfect voice took his audience on a perfectly paced musical journey from his massive hits to contemporary songs, incorporating selections from his new duets album, Engelbert Calling, and musical genres ranging from the romantic ballads he is known for to uptempo, country, and more, including a tune he composed himself. The consummate "thespian of song," who has the uncanny ability to make the people in a room feel that he is singing to each of them solely, also entertained the crowd with his wonderful sense of humor and a little dancing throughout the magical evening that culminated with standing ovations from the entire theater of 2,050 people and a crowd rushing the stage for the chance to see him up close or to shake his hand.

It was truly an event that left everyone who witnessed it in awe – from the perspective of both Engelbert’s performance and the audience reaction -- and wondering why this star is not performing in Vegas on a regular basis. Hopefully, one of the entertainment buyers in Vegas will “get” what legions of people all over the world and in this city obviously want.

Later this month, The Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino and Elvis Presley’s Graceland will reveal details of a new permanent property attraction and live entertainment presentations that celebrate the life and legacy of Elvis Presley, showcasing the man, the performer and the music that revolutionized popular culture. Throughout his epic seven-year stint, Presley performed 837 consecutive sold-out shows. More people saw Presley perform at the property than anywhere else in the world.

By the way, Elvis and Engelbert were good friends and Elvis even “stole” Engelbert’s long sideburns style. The two can be seen in a great candid picture together on a wall at The Riviera, where Engelbert performed to standing-room-only crowds for nine years after being first brought to Las Vegas by one of the casino’s then owners, the legendary Dean Martin, as you walk in from the main entrance to the casino.
