Numerous media and VIPs made their way to an event at Planet Hollywood and soon found themselves “Under the Influence” --- of singer/entertainer Frankie Moreno as he celebrated the opening of his new resident show titled “Frankie Moreno: Under The Influence” in the Planet Hollywood Theater.

The high-energy show is a mixture of original tunes written by Moreno as well as covers of some songs by his favorite artists, including Elvis, Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, and Frank Sinatra, along with others. He even performs a song that he wrote for Ray Charles that was on the icon’s last album, which unfortunately never got released because Charles passed away. Moreno is as versatile as a performer can be – he not only sings and writes but he is an amazingly proficient pianist and guitarist and plays a mean harmonica.

It was Frankie’s girlfriend, Lacey Schwimmer, formerly of “Dancing with the Stars,” who influenced the name of the production, by the way, and she also choreographed it and dances in it as well. We hear that the piano in the show cost about $100,000 – it is one that moves and swivels and goes up and down as Moreno does one of the things he is famous for – playing the piano backwards. It’s great to see him back on the casino stage. After four years of performing at the Stratosphere, he was cut loose by that hotel in 2014, a year earlier than the end of his contract, and had been playing the Cabaret Jazz room (another great room in town) at The Smith Center and touring before landing his gig at Planet Hollywood.

Notable names in attendance at the opening night blue carpet and performance included Motley Crüe frontman Vince Neil, “Madam Secretary” star Erich Bergen, Chef Rick Moonen, Robert Diggs aka RZA of Wu Tang Clan, Olympic figure skater Jeremy Abbott, “So You Think You Can Dance” Season Two winner Benji Schwimmer, Las Vegas headliner Clint Holmes and his wife, entertainer Kelly Clinton Holmes, and others.

Another great “don’t miss” production is that from Human Nature. It’s called “Jukebox” and the Aussie foursome, Andrew, Michael, Phil and Toby, do a superb job of presenting their covers of songs from eras beginning with the 50s. In addition, they have signed to perform for another three years in the Sands Showroom at the Venetian. They sing, they dance, they joke with the crowd – it is a fabulously entertaining evening that has the entire room up on their feet and dancing and singing along. You’re guaranteed to have a blast.

Ladies, start your engines! Actor and producer Channing Tatum has heard the call of women everywhere clamoring for more Magic Mike. Next spring, their dreams will come true as Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas will become the permanent home of Mike Lane, America’s favorite handyman-turned-stripper, with MAGIC MIKE LIVE LAS VEGAS – a complete re-imagination of the male revue based on the hit movies “Magic Mike” and “Magic Mike XXL.”

Currently anticipated to open for preview performances in March 2017, MAGIC MIKE LIVE LAS VEGAS will recreate the mythic Club Domina with a sizzling 360-degree dance and an acrobatic strip tease spectacular, guaranteed to bring on the heat. In addition to direction and creative leadership from Tatum, film franchise choreographer Alison Faulk will once again reprise her role, creating the stage show’s choreography.

“‘Magic Mike’ has been a special and very personal project for me, and this show is a natural extension of that,” said Tatum. “So while I won’t be on stage as Mike, MAGIC MIKE LIVE LAS VEGAS is my vision and I’m looking forward to spending a lot of time in Las Vegas creating something that will give women what they really want.”

Conceived and directed by Tatum and produced by Free Association, in association with, United Talent Agency, BASE Entertainment and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, MAGIC MIKE LIVE LAS VEGAS promises to take the male revue, a staple of Las Vegas bachelorette parties and girlfriend getaways, to new heights. The experience starts as you enter Club Domina, a real life version of the club at the foundation of “Magic Mike XXL,” where men cater to women’s desires. The fully re-envisioned cabaret nightclub space will be unlike any other in Las Vegas with three elaborately designed bars, an integrated stage and seating for 450 guests. Expressly created to capture the magnetism of a film franchise that has grossed nearly $300 million, this new venue and its immersive production will be one of the most unique entertainment experiences in Las Vegas.

In the meantime, the Tommy Wind Theater on the Strip has a new addition -- STEELE, a hot new male revue experience -- to the property’s entertainment lineup. Starring some of Las Vegas’ most seductive men and featuring tastefully daring choreography, STEELE promises chiseled, sexy performers and fresh, fantasy fun. Show producer London Steele was the inspiration for box office hit “Magic Mike” character “Dallas,” The production features eight visually stimulating numbers, including a fireman fantasy, heart-melting military hunks in formation, and a routine with lots of southern charm, to name just a few.
