Where there’s Smokey, there’s fire, even if there are no lit candles on the cake. Smokey Robinson and the members of Human Nature celebrated the 1,000th performance of their hit Las Vegas show “Smokey Robinson Presents Human Nature: The Motown Show” in Las Vegas on stage at The Sands Showroom at The Venetian Las Vegas® on April 12. A special appearance was made by show presenter and Motown legend Smokey Robinson, who joined the four members of Human Nature on stage during the show and performed “The Tracks of My Tears” with the group, a song co-written by Smokey in the 60s.

John Caparella, president and chief operating officer of The Venetian, The Palazzo & Sands Expo joined Human Nature and Smokey Robinson on stage and said that he was there here to encourage the group to stay for another 1,000 shows. Adding to the celebration of the milestone, Carlo’s Bakery, the Cake Boss’ bakery that recently opened at Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian and The Palazzo, created a special cake depicting Human Nature on stage with Smokey. One of the group’s members, looking at the figures on the cake, told Smokey that he looked good on it. Smokey broke up the audience when he quickly retorted, “Eat me!”

The cast of "Raiding the Rock Vault" was honored with a special memorabilia case dedication featuring many items from the rock ‘n’ roll histories of the bands Heart, Asia, Whitesnake and Quiet Riot. Fans showed up at the Hard Rock Cafe’s strip location to watch their favorite rock icons pose in front of the case and talk about the stories behind several of the items, which included the jacket leather jacket worn by Paul Shortino in This is Spinal Tap, guitars from Doug Aldrich of Whitesnake and Andrew Freeman of The Offspring, the black suit worn by Robin McAuley in MSG’s music video “This is my Heart,” and more.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas celebrated the debut of its double-dose of REHAB with music sensation Robin Thicke on Saturday, April 12 and award-winning artist Flo Rida on Sunday, April 13.The unforgettable debauchery kicked off on Saturday as Thicke entered Las Vegas’ original dayclub through the sold-out crowd singing his hit song “Give It 2 U” before jumping on the poolside stage. The artist continued the show with “Blurred Lines” and “Magic” as fans cheered and sang along. Following his performance, Thicke thanked everyone for coming out saying, “I love you Hard Rock! Thank you so much REHAB! God bless you all! Let’s go!” Spotted in the crowd of revelers was comedian and actor Dave Chappelle.

On Sunday, Flo Rida kept the party going at REHAB after hosting at Body English Nightclub on Saturday evening where he filmed a music video for his new song “Rollercoaster” at both locations. The artist got low on the dayclub’s stage with Natalie La Rose while singing “Good Feeling,” “Wild Ones” and more. Taking partygoers by surprise, Flo Rida hopped on his bodyguard’s shoulders and walked through the swarm of guests while performing his hit song “Club Can’t Handle Me.” Throughout the afternoon, attendees cheered and danced as they partied within arm’s reach of the singer. Flo Rida even took a dip in the poolside tropical oasis to help cool off from the warm desert sun. Notable guests include professional football player Jameel McClain and Pawn Stars actor Austin “Chumlee” Russell.

Keep Memory Alive, the fundraising arm of the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, and Bill Edwards Presents will host an all-star tribute Saturday, April 26 in honor of Gloria and Emilio Estefan at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This dazzling star-studded gala will bring together the world’s celebrities of music and film to honor the Estefans’ advocacy for spinal cord injuries and research and the Cleveland Clinic’s commitment to care and research for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, frontotemporal dementia, multiple system atrophy and MS. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.

Popular reggae musician Ziggy Marley will heat up the Mandalay Bay Beach stage with a Memorial Day weekend concert Sunday, May 25 at 9 p.m. Marley, the oldest son of music legend Bob Marley, made his recording debut in 1979 with a group comprised of his father and three siblings. The group became known as The Melody Makers and released 14 albums over three decades. Marley began his solo career in 2003 when he released Dragonfly with Ghetto Youths Crew, a record label he created while working with the United Nations. In 2006, he released his second solo album, Love Is My Religion, which won a GRAMMY Award for “Best Reggae Album.”

American rock band 311 will bring its distinctive sound to the stage at the Mandalay Bay Beach for a performance scheduled Saturday, June 28 at 9 p.m. Returning to the Mandalay Bay Beach following its 2012 show, multi-platinum rock group 311 will play an extended set of hits, rarities, covers and classics backed by a state-of-the-art light and special effects show. Past shows also have included appearances by circus performers, aerial acrobats, fire twirlers, stilt walkers, drumlines and marching bands, making the experience energetic and entertaining.

Some time ago, House of Blues Las Vegas decided to celebrate Star Wars Day with a party known throughout the galaxy by the name of May the 4th Be With You….and it went so well the first time that they're doing it again. The galactic event, back in its second year by popular demand, will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2014 in Crossroads – the epicenter of food, art and music. Fremont Street Experience has added smash-hit recording artist 3 Doors Down to the Rock of Vegas summer concert series lineup. The band will rock audiences at Fremont Street Experience performing fan favorites such as “Here Without You,” “Kryptonite,” “When I’m Gone,” “Be Like That” and more as they perform a free concert on Saturday, June 14 on the 3rd Street Stage at 9 p.m.

The Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir will bring his band RatDog along with him for his July 5, 2014 stop at The Pearl inside Palms Casino Resort. For nearly 50 years, Bob Weir has been known for being the most distinctive rhythm guitarist in rock ‘n’ roll. Influenced by hard bop pianist McCoy Tyner, John Coltrane and Igor Stravinsky, Weir has brought unusual depth and a new approach to the role of rhythm guitar expression over the years.

Multitalented entertainer Ben Vereen will bring his one-man show to the Suncoast Showroom May 17 and 18. Accomplished actor, dancer, and singer Ben Vereen is no stranger to the entertainment scene. Actor and heartthrob John Stamos treated his mom, Loretta Phillips, to an elaborate 75th birthday celebration on the Las Vegas Strip recently, culminating with a champagne toast at the owner's table at FIZZ, the lavish new champagne lounge at Caesars Palace, fashioned by Creative Director David Furnish. Stamos and the birthday group headed over to FIZZ after going to see Sir Elton’s John’s show, “The Million Dollar Piano,” at The Colosseum. The owner's table is filled with photographs from Furnish and John's personal collection.

Also seen at FIZZ on Saturday night was actor and Chris O’Donnell, who enjoyed champagne cocktails after watching “The Million Dollar Piano.” Before heading out for the evening, O’Donnell stopped by the second-story owner’s table to greet Stamos and wish his mother a happy birthday.

It was a star-studded night at FIZZ, as “Baywatch” star Jeremy Jackson was also spotted at the luxurious hotspot.

Crosby Stills & Nash will perform career-spanning favorites, as well as new songs during the summer 2014 tour which includes a stop at The Pearl inside Palms Casino Resort on Sept. 27, 2014 at 8 p.m. On the heels of their sold out March 2014 tour, Crosby, Stills & Nash announced additional U.S. summer tour dates. The group will perform songs from their extensive catalogue, as well as new material from each member. Once again, CSN will be accompanied by its backing band featuring: Shane Fontayne (guitar), Steve DiStanislao (drums), Kevin McCormick (bass), James Raymond (keyboards) and Todd Caldwell (organ).

The British actor, best known for his role in Magic Mike, was celebrating his birthday in Las Vegas with Jeff Beacher of' “Beacher's Madhouse” and a large entourage of friends. Country legend, George Strait, dined for the second time at CRUSH eat, drink, love at MGM Grand. The “King of Country” was celebrating his big win as “Entertainer of the Year” from The American Country Music Awards. He dined with Scott Sibella, President of MGM Grand, and friends. Dressed in a cowboy hat, a denim shirt and blue jeans, the country icon and the group indulged in Chef Billy DeMarco’s Ricotta Gnocchi with Short Rib, California Sea Bass, Sliced New York Strip Steak and Cavatelli Pasta while drinking Caymus Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon.

Comedian George Wallace has announced that he will be ending the run of his highly popular “Best 10 PM” show in Las Vegas on April 26, 2014 after marking his 10-year anniversary at Flamingo Las Vegas last month. Wallace, called “The New Mr. Las Vegas,” says he will continue to reside in Las Vegas. “I will live here and forever call it home after these 10 years on the Strip,” explains Wallace. “It is a great city and one I have come to love and feel a real part of.” George will be on a Pentagon assignment entertaining the troops overseas the week of April 15 –19. His final performance dates will be April 10 – 12 and 22 – 26. By the way, Wallace just won $1.3 million in his lawsuit against the Bellagio for injuries he sustained during a performance for a private function at the hotel.

Fans of the hit NBC show “The Voice” can finally see their favorite contestants live as the season’s talented top finalists and favorite past stars hit the road on a huge summer tour. The 31-show concert tour will stop at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, July 25. Already confirmed on the tour is Jamaica native and Season 5 champ, Tessanne Chin. Also joining the tour from Season 5 is soul-pop teen artist and runner up Jacquie Lee and vocal powerhouse and family man Will Champlin. Dia Frampton, a Team Blake favorite from Season One, will be hitting the road, too, along with this season’s winner, runner-up, and 3rd place finalist. Another fan favorite is guaranteed to tour and will be determined in May by America via social media.

Park on Fremont, located in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas, welcomed its “first birthday” with a one-year anniversary party. The eclectically chic gastropub celebrated with a packed house of Downtown Las Vegas business owners, industry executives and loyal patrons. Local musicians Matt Matelko and The Jeremy Cornwell Project performed on the back patio. Guests sipped on Mumm champagne, Chain Breaker IPA, and Park on Fremont’s signature cocktails The Unicorn, Pillow Talk, and Red Sangria. Servers passed a variety of appetizers, including Mac & Cheese Balls, Chicken Wings, and Deep Fried Oreos and Girl Scout Cookies.

The AXIS Powered by Monster will kick off its first Mexican Independence Day weekend celebration with a special performance by multi-Grammy Award-winning and top-selling salsa artist of all time, Marc Anthony. The New Tropicana resort in Las Vegas kicked off the first-ever Saturday LGBTQ beach party, Xposed!, recently in the all-new Tropicana Beach Club. Blues rocker Gregg Allman will return to The Pearl inside Palms Casino Resort on June 21, 2014 at 8 p.m. Former Allman Brothers Band bandmate Jaimoe will bring his band, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, as support.

Comedians Cheech & Chong and rock band WAR recently announced their co-headlining, “Up in Smoke Tour.” Hey, what happens when Cheech and Chong get together with WAR? Answer: The Greatest Stoner show of all time…combining Comedy, Latin, Funk, Horns, Rock & Soul.
