Las Vegas’ resident ray of sunshine, and the loser of “America’s Got Talent,” is spreading holiday cheer with the return of Piff’s Piffmas Piff-Tacular. With a sleigh of new tricks and a special guest appearance from Mr. Piffles the Red Nose Chihuahua, Piff’s Piffmas Piff-Tacular will run Monday, December 5, 2016 through Wednesday, January 4, 2016 inside the Bugsy’s Cabaret at Flamingo Las Vegas.

“When Mr. Piffles first suggested this idea, I thought it was just one of his get-fat-quick schemes but having seen the great work Three Square is doing, we’re really excited to be involved,” said Piff the Magic Dragon. “Whether it’s biscuits for dogs, tinned food for cats or fresh steak for all those pet magic dragons, bring it down to the Flamingo and we’ll make sure it gets to the right place. Just don't forget the magic dragons. Steak. Preferably medium rare.”

In addition to providing holiday cheer for all of Las Vegas, Piff, who will be appearing on “America’s Got Talent Holiday Spectacular” on NBC, December 19, will make the season a bit more enjoyable for some of Las Vegas’ furry friends, with the inaugural Piff for Pets Holiday Pet Food Drive with Three Square Food Bank. Guests who bring an unopened bag of pet food to Bugsy’s Cabaret at Flamingo Las Vegas during the special holiday run of Piff’s Piffmas Piff-Tacular, will receive a free poster of Piff the Magic Dragon.

It’s that time of year again for rodeo fans to head to Downtown Las Vegas to celebrate the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (Wrangler NFR) action at Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC), Dec. 1 – 10. The 20,000 square-foot venue space will be transformed into a country-themed celebration with free live-action viewing parties, mouth-watering food options, nightly entertainment and much more. Starting December 2, guests can partake in daily meet-and-greet signings at the D Las Vegas DLVEC’s sister property, with the Wright Family Bronco Riders, a family of rodeo stars sponsored by Downtown hotel and casino for the 2016 event. More than 1,000 people are expected to bring the holiday spirit to Summerlin on December 10th when they "jingle all the way" to Tivoli Village, 440 S. Rampart Boulevard, for the Arthritis Foundation's annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk event. This annual fundraiser aims to fight and cure arthritis, the nation's leading cause of disability. The annual holiday-themed event will start at 8:00 a.m. and will have host walkers and runners alike donning their most festive apparel -- everything from bells on bobtails to full holiday regalia. All are welcome to show off their holiday costumes and run, walk, or simply enjoy the many activities of the morning including meeting local celebrities, a kids zone, petting zoo, shopping, holiday entertainment, music, contests, games and prizes. International music stars Bruno Mars and Cher will join Stevie Nicks as the first headliners at the new Park Theater at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. Bruno Mars, a 17-time GRAMMY Award nominee, will ring in the New Year in a big way when he performs Friday, Dec. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 31. He is scheduled to return to Park Theater for additional performances in March 2017. Worldwide superstar Cher will bring her more than 60 years’ worth of pop hits to Park Theater with performances in February and May 2017.

One of the most intriguing and impactful entertainers of all time, multiple GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Ricky Martin will begin his Las Vegas headlining residency at the new Park Theater at Monte Carlo on April 5, 2017. Martin's one-of-a-kind show, promoted by Live Nation and MGM Resorts International, promises to thrill audiences with non-stop entertainment. Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman and Patrick Hughes, CEO and president of Fremont Street Experience, will help Santa light Las Vegas' official Christmas tree on Tues., Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. The 50-foot tree will be decked with festive decorations and shine brightly below the 12.5 million lights of the Viva Vision canopy. The tree will be on display at Fremont Street Experience through the Christmas holiday.

Fremont Street Experience will welcome the first night of Hanukkah with the lighting of the Grand Menorah on Sun., Dec. 25 at 4 p.m. A ceremony will be led by Rabbi Shea Harlig, Director of Chabad of Southern Nevada to welcome the holiday known as the Festival of Lights. The 20-foot Grand Menorah will remain on display during the Hanukkah Season.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy returns to The Orleans Showroom with its neo-swing sound on Dec. 29-30. Commemorating 23 years since the swing revival group formed, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy found inspiration works from artists like Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington. The group’s ‘Rat Pack’ sound seamlessly blends the classic 40’s and 50’s brass with post-modern pop/rock undertones for fans of all ages.

Congratulations to fabulous entertainer Tony Orlando, who will return to the South Point showroom December 16-18. Tony just received the prestigious Bob Hope Congressional Medal of Honor for Excellence in Entertaining. He has devoted a lot of his time and career to veterans’ causes and is thrilled to have received this wonderful honor.

Legendary international superstar Engelbert Humperdinck, who just returned from performing to sold-out crowds in Beirut, Lebanon, and Colombo, Sri Lanka, will be returning to The Orleans February 25 and 26. Engelbert is celebrating his 50th anniversary in 2017 – his signature hit song, “Release Me,” debuted on January 13, 1967 and went into the Guinness World Book of Records for selling 86,000-125,000 records a day for weeks. The song gave him a global career and he has never stopped, touring the world numerous times and having sold more than 150 million records over the past 49 years. While in Beirut, he received a prestigious award from the Academic University for Non-violence and Human Rights in Lebanon presented to him by Dr. Issam Mansour, the President of AUNOHR the first University of its kind in Lebanon. In addition, the reviews of Engelbert’s two shows in Sri Lanka proclaimed them the best performances the country had ever seen. He’s currently busy planning a spectacular show for his 50th anniversary tour.

Country music superstar and Platinum-selling recording artist Blake Shelton will take a song from his current album “If I’m Honest” to bill his 2017 “Doing It To Country Songs” tour. Shelton and special guest RaeLynn will perform at the MGM Grand Garden Arena when the tour makes a stop in Las Vegas Saturday, March 4. The tour follows the 2016 release of Shelton’s 10th studio album, “If I’m Honest,” which was not only the biggest selling album in the week of its release, but also the best-selling country album released this year. With four weeks atop the Billboard Country albums chart, the 15-track project features the tour’s namesake along with Shelton’s latest No. 1 smash hit, “Came Here To Forget,” and his current Top 15 and climbing single, “A Guy With A Girl.”

The city of Las Vegas requests submissions from artists who are interested in painting utility boxes to beautify the urban environment. To promote community participation and support local art, the city offers a $2,500 honorarium to paint up to four utility boxes along Maryland Parkway between East Charleston Boulevard and Stewart Avenue. The deadline to apply is Friday, Jan. 6, 2017. All submissions for the project will be reviewed and selected by a panel of evaluators. Four artists will be selected to develop a proposal to paint the utility boxes with original designs. It is anticipated that the utility boxes will be completed by June 2017. Starting December 1, teen artists and bands are invited to apply for Bringing Down the House, a multi-week program that connects young artists to music industry insiders to build self-confidence, develop new skills, and bring crowds to their feet. In a ceremony held recently at Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. in Las Vegas, Hollywood Executive and legendary Marvel Comics Creator Stan Lee received the Key to the Las Vegas Strip from Clark County Commissioner Larry Brown. Lee was in town launching his “Respect” initiative pin at the Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. retail store, and arrived to the attraction in grand style – up the Las Vegas Strip, escorted by Black Widow and S.T.A.T.I.O.N. agents. Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall is spreading holiday cheer with an all-new laser light show at Mystic Falls Park. The Winter Wonderland show debuted on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at a tree lighting ceremony hosted by Boyd Gaming Executive Chairman Bill Boyd. The Mystic Falls Park’s laser light show equipment was upgraded throughout 2016, and will offer several new shows, with the premiere of the new holiday-inspired show being the first to debut. Comprehensive upgrades include updates to the show’s control equipment, sound system, lighting effects and fountain effects. The multi-colored lasers, imagery, new water features and a new soundtrack enhance the show for a mesmerizing experience. The nine-minute holiday show features a variety of classic holiday songs, including “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Let It Snow,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Frosty the Snowman,” and many more. The Miss Nevada USA organization has crowned the new Miss Nevada USA 2017 and Miss Nevada Teen USA 2017 at the pageant hosted at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Lauren York of North Las Vegas was crowned Miss Nevada USA 2017 and Alexis Smith of Summerlin was crowned Miss Nevada Teen USA 2017, respectively. The two new beauty queens were crowned by the previous titleholders, Miss Nevada USA 2016 Emelina Adams and Miss Nevada Teen USA 2016 Carissa Morrow. The pageant featured contestants who were judged in three areas of competition, including: interview, swimsuit and evening gown for Miss Nevada USA contestants; and interview, athletic wear and evening gown for Miss Nevada Teen USA contestants. “You Light Up My Life” songstress and multi-talented entertainer Debby Boone will return to the Suncoast Showroom with “Swing This,” her captivating new performance, on Dec. 9-10. In 1977, Boone’s career took off when her song “You Light Up My Life” topped the Billboard chart for 10 consecutive weeks and won her a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. In 2008, Billboard’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Chart-Topping Songs ranked Boone’s song at #7.

The Toy Box at Downtown Summerlin has two units of the hardest-to-find toy this holiday season – Hatchimals. The fantastically popular toy, manufactured by Spinmaster, is topping every hot holiday toy list this year, and is virtually sold out across the country. Legendary singer, songwriter and musician Bonnie Raitt announces “Dig In Deep” Winter 2017 tour dates, including a stop at the Pearl Concert Theater inside Palms Casino Resort on Friday, February 17, 2016 at 8 p.m. 2016 has been a tremendous year for Bonnie Raitt following the release of her twentieth album Dig In Deep (Redwing Records) and over 75 tour dates worldwide. To kick off her 2017 World Tour in support of Dig In Deep, Raitt announced a string of seven shows in February and two in March in Hawaii before she performs in New Zealand and Australia, including a stop at Bluesfest Byron Bay. Raitt will be joined by her longtime touring band: James "Hutch" Hutchinson (bass), Ricky Fataar (drums), and George Marinelli (guitar), along with Mike Finnigan (keyboards).

The 2017 ‘Aces of Comedy’ Series is set to deliver some of the biggest names in comedy, including Jay Leno, George Lopez and other famously funny comedians to the Terry Fator Theatre stage at The Mirage Hotel & Casino. Las Vegas favorites Santa Fe & The Fat City Horns is returning home. Founded by the legendary Jerry Lopez, the renowned band cut their teeth in the Las Vegas entertainment scene more than 40 years ago and will be returning to the Station Casinos family with weekly shows at The Lounge inside Palms Casino Resort. The super band will perform every Monday at 10:30 p.m., beginning Monday, November 14, 2016.

Two superstars from the world of Persian music – Mansour and Arash – along with a special performance by internationally renowned comedian Max Amini, will perform at the new state-of-the-art Park Theater at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016. Presented by Live Nation, this will be a historical night spanning generations of fans in the city known for world-class entertainment.

When you ask for a drumroll and you’re Andre Agassi, you get an entire drumline! That is how the afternoon began as Agassi, a leading supporter of education, joined House of Blues Las Vegas headliner Carlos Santana and his wife, Cindy Blackman Santana, to announce a special partnership and research project with Square Panda and the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy. Carlos is back in Las Vegas for shows at the House of Blues beginning tomorrow (Nov. 2) so he took some time to visit the school and make this special announcement.

Square Panda is an educational product that turns a simple tablet into a comprehensive multisensory Phonics system. The tool measures each student’s individual progress and challenges through game play patterns, allowing educators to get a more complete view of a student’s education and help to create a solid reading base that is fundamental for future learning. The announcement took place Tuesday morning at the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy. Donors who are making this possible include, House of Blues, Carlos Santana and The Milagro Foundation, and Bank of Nevada.

Renowned musician and songwriter Burton Cummings will return to perform his iconic hits at The Orleans Showroom on Jan. 11-12. Cummings began his career in the 1960’s as lead singer of Canadian rock band The Guess Who. The group produced the hits “These Eyes,” “American Woman,” “Hang On To Your Life” and many more. The band became the first Canadian group to reach #1 on the U.S. Hot 100 charts and became the first to earn a Platinum album for selling more than 1 million copies in the United States. Falling in Reverse, Issues, and Motionless in White will head out this January for ‘The End Is Here’ Tour. The tour kicks off on Jan. 13 in Tempe, AZ with a stop Jan. 15 at House of Blues Las Vegas. Dangerkids and Dead Girls Academy join the tour as support. Falling In Reverse is currently working on new material for their next album, the follow up to 2015’s Just Like You which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Independent Current Album chart, landed at No. 3 for Current Alternative Album, No. 21 in the Billboard Top 200, and took the No. 13 spot on the Top Current Album chart. Legendary rap group Wu-Tang Clan will ring in 2017 on the Las Vegas Strip with HOT 97.5’s Wu Year’s Eve. RZA, GZA, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, U-God, Masta Killa, Ghostface Killah and Cappadonna will perform at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino New Year’s Eve Sunday, Dec. 31 at 9 p.m. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. PT.

As country music icons Reba McEntire, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn prepare to return tonight to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace to kick off their last run of shows in 2016, the trio has announced they will be calling the venue home to their hit Las Vegas residency for at least one more year. The extension will make “REBA, BROOKS & DUNN: Together in Vegas” the longest running country music residency at The Colosseum since the venue opened in 2003.   To celebrate the extension, and keep up with ticket demand, 12 new shows scheduled June 21 - July 2, 2017 and Nov. 29 - Dec. 9, 2017 have been added and will go on sale Friday, Dec. 2 at noon PT. Since premiering in June 2015, REBA, BROOKS & DUNN: Together in Vegas has played over 30 rockin’ shows and has received rave reviews by critics and fans being called “… a forceful country experience that rivals any rock show” by the Las Vegas Sun and a “ joint concert of the history-making variety” by Vegas.com.

Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC) will heat up in January with a host of jam-packed events as part of its new dance music series, "Zoology" by Collective Zoo. The event will kick off Jan. 6 with performances by Billy Kenny, Bixel Boys and Justin Jay, and the party continues Jan. 20 with Shiba San and Will Clarke.

Pop superstar Rick Astley is returning to Las Vegas for a special performance at the Pearl Concert Theater inside Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 8 p.m. With his rich, deep voice, Rick Astley became an overnight sensation in the late 1980s, with his well-crafted dance-pop. Astley was discovered by the producer Pete Waterman in 1985, while singing in the English soul band FBI. After that, Waterman's production team -- Stock, Aitken & Waterman -- took Astley under their wing, writing and producing such impeccably crafted pop singles as “Never Gonna Give You Up,” which peaked at number one in 25 countries, and “Together Forever.”

Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer will bring his new concert experience ‘Hans Zimmer Revealed’ to Park Theater at Monte Carlo Friday, April 21, 2017. The concert will be in two parts: the first being some of Zimmer’s classic movie scores including GLADIATOR, THE LION KING and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, and the second featuring re-imagined versions of some classic scores such as THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY and INCEPTION with special guests from the rock and pop world.  

Dead & Company will kick off its 2017 summer tour at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday, May 27, 2017. The celebrated group’s cross-country run will include a return to many iconic venues such as Fenway Park, Folsom Field and Citi Field, while also adding new venues including Los Angeles’ historic Hollywood Bowl and Chicago’s Wrigley Field to the tour. The returning Dead & Company band, which includes Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir; singer/guitarist John Mayer; Allman Brothers’ bassist Oteil Burbridge; and “Fare Thee Well” and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, will perform two sets of music drawing from the Dead’s historic catalog of songs.
