It was an evening that really took the cake. George Wallace’s 10th anniversary celebration show at the Flamingo blew in like a lion and blew out the same way, thanks to a large cake and celebrity guests throughout the entire evening. Before the sold-out show, George and friends enjoyed an intimate gathering at the new Chayo restaurant at The Linq.

When George hit the stage with his “I Be Thinkin’” routine, he soon found himself in good company. The first person he invited on stage was Terry Fator, As he was talking to Terry, to everyone’s surprise, Jerry Seinfeld, who was performing at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace over the weekend and who is George’s best friend, made a surprise visit and joined them. After Jerry left, Terry found himself alone on stage as George handed him a mic and left the premises. But the talented ventriloquist/impressionist is never by himself for long and amused audiences by throwing his voice and doing some voice echoes. When George walked back on, Terry turned him into a real live “singing” puppet.

Then George invited entertainer Frankie Scinta and celebrity magician Murray Sawchuck, respectively, on stage. Sitting in the audience were Gladys Knight and her big brother Bubba Knight, one of the original Pips, and they received a standing ovation after coming up and doing an impromptu version of “Midnight Train to Georgia.” Then it was cake time, the large confection being rolled out by George’s Flamingo headliner mates, Donny and Marie. Donny served cake as George went on with his show, which culminated with a performance by Mosaic and had audience members on their feet again.
